The Gameboy Fighter's E - X - T - R - E - M - E Megaguide
Progress Report: 99902.08: Finally resurrected the freakin' text version of this thing, even though I was awful lazy and just cut-n-pasted the HTML version's stuff and made up for lack of pics. But the text version's back, regardless. --99705.31: Megaguide 1, version: Alpha created-- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~--<> version: Delta by: Ninja Smoke and the Wrecking Crew ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~--<>
Ninja's Note: Okay, let's get things cleared up off the top: this thing is NOT for profit, and it can only be reproduced electronically. If you use any part of it in a FAQ of your own, you'd BETTER give me credit! Also, this thing is the companion file to the HTML version, in the event you had a hard time tryin' to print it for just the moves and not the pics.(much like I wanted to do lately...). This Megaguide is (c)1998 by me, John Evans, jr. All other copyrights are acknowledged(Midway, Capcom, Nintendo, Tiger Electronics, etc.). Let's do this!!!

Ninja's Note 2: Oh yeah, just so you know: Stay away from this game and MK1! If you have to have handheld Kombat, MKII is the way to go, the only one as of now that I can honestly say is worth your money!!! Yeah, MK4's in color and has voices, but ask yourself what's more important: good gameplay and speed or a game with color and voices that could be as slow as MK3?

You'll shred'em, but you can do whatever as long as you don't hit the shreds! You can do a babality and it counts as a FATALITY! Very hard to do. -Strategies for...Sektor/Smoke: Teleport a LOT. Missiles/Invisibility are okay, but teleporting should be THE most used weapon. ...Kabal/Cyrax: Get used to the ol' FB Trap. Spin and roundhouse constant for Kabal, roundhouse, close bomb, net, push'em to the blast, roundhouse for Cyrax. ...Sheeva: Sweeps, roundhouses, and stomps are the way to go! ...Sub-Zero: Aggression as always. But vs. Shao Kahn, do the old MKII cheese: freeze him and slide like there's no tomorrow!(this DOES NOT work on the SNES/Genesis!) ...Sonya: Mix in everything in a blaze of aggression, especially sweeps and leg grabs. But against Kahn, stick to this: sweep to push him away, ring to greet him as he lands. Duck his FBs and repeat. ...Sindel: Scream, uppercut...I haven't beaten the game with her. A Sonya style strategy(sweep, FB, duck...)might work. ...Kano: None known. besides, who plays Kano ANYWAY?! -Extra Continues: At the Choose Your Destiny Screen, press up twice to get five kredits instead of the normal three!! -Kombat Kodes: 192/234: Smoke UKK 100/100: no throws 020/020: no block 460/460: switch'em 466/466: inf. run 033/000: p1 1/2 en. 000/033: p2 1/2 en. 707/000: p1 1/4 en. 000/707: p2 1/4 en. 205/205: vs. Smoke 987/123: no bars 688/422: dark 985/125: psycho 987/666: message 1 123/926: message 2 282/282: message 3

---MORTAL KOMBAT 4--- -The controls are EXACTLY the same as MK3's, except there are NO Babalities...and as always, only ONE Fatality. What is this... Super MK1 Turbo?! -It seems there may be another version of the game out there. While the characters mentioned here are what are on Midway's web site AND on the back of the box itself, Nintendo has screens that include Tanya, Quan Chi, Liu Kang, and Fujin instead of Sonya, Johnny Cage, Kai, and Reptile. Whether this is true or not is uncertain, but I just found out that in the "other version", Reptile is the hidden character. Screenshots are up from both Midway's site(top row of images) and Nintendo's site(bottom row of images). -It appears that moves and finishers are even easier to do motionwise. -The hidden slot on the select screen is unknown...for the pics that Midway has. As stated, Reptile is the hidden slot for the select screen from Nintendo's website. Hmm... -There IS voice in the game!!! Nintendo AND Midway both say this. -The game WILL work with Gameboy(but why would you waste your money? MK3, Pokemon, and SF2' all look bad on the green screen), Gameboy Pocket, and Super Gameboy. -There are three towers, just like MK3. The trick for having five kredits probably works, too. (see below) -As for the select screen, the person in the top right looks like Reptile, but it's very hard to make him out!!! As stated, Nintendo has pics of a different select screen...but who's right? Nintendo? Midway? Or are there really two versions of MK4 for Gameboy?! If anyone can provide an answer, please email me IMMEDIATELY!!!

Tricks of the Trade...the Next Cheater's Nation ----------------------------------------------- Not very much to post about that version. The KKs from MK3 all work, even the old Smoke UKK ad Vs KK(they now are for Reptile). Why? Because it seems the KK system on the Gb was never changed between MK3 and MK4 like the REAL ones were. If this is true, then some(if not all)of MK3's glitches should still work. Nuff said.
---STREET FIGHTER II'--- /////controls///// They're essentially the same as MK, BUT, Back is also for blocking, and tapping the P/K buttons get you a Jab/Short. Pressing P/K gets you Fierce/Roundhouse. Oddly, some animation looks the SAME(Ken/Ryu/Chun's d.Short/d.Roundhouse). Also, a "." beside a direction means to hold it for 2-3 sec. p/k = any punch/kick, P/K = Fierce/Roundhouse(duh), BTW It's SF, you should know this already! Ninja's Note: I no longer have this game, as I used it and SSF2 on Snes to get SFA2 on Snes...so this is the FINAL upgrade for the SFII' segment of this thing. Or maybe not...who knows?! Brian Preble(webmaster@gamesages.com): The MKT section is the other source...but it conflicts with ]{ombat's info pretty badly as far as moves. (Ninja's note: If ANYONE has complete, totally accurate info on MKT for Game.com, email me at turboranger@rocketmail.com IMMEDIATELY!) -MK4: Brian Preble, once more! Yep, the MK4 moves for the "other version" came from here. -SF2': The Select Screen pics came from this URL: http://www.elee.calpoly.edu/~jguest/sftrib2.htm (Ninja's note: The MK pics came from http://mortalkombat.ieaccess.net/ while it was still around decently.)
\\\\\Things Needed///// MK1: nothing...this is done. Unless anyone finds glitches. MK2: Nope. This one's done too...unless there are other glitches. MK3: IF THERE AIN'T NO GLITCHES, THEN THIS ONE'S DONE(at last!!!)!!! MKT: Controls: Since Bl now acts as Lp for certain moves(instead of P for punch-based moves like on Gb), how would that affect combos and Brutalities? Finishers: Does anyone know the Friendship motion or if everyone has their Brutality button sequences? Combos: Did button-link combos make their(much needed)return after their(all too unnecessary)absence in Gameboy MK3? MK4: Confirmation about the fact as to whether or not there are two versions of the game, as well as moves to the version with Sonya and them... SFII': Finished 4 Life unless anyone has any new info.
