As most of you can tell, our news has been down for quite a while.
Despite my best efforts, and replacing the news script 4 different
times, the CGI crashes, and our news scripter is the first affected.
In fact, all of our CGI has problems due to these crashes.
The fault is purely from our server "host" Gamesquad,
as this has happened several times, and has forced me to remove
the affect CGI, never to return again. I have instead, decided to
become part of a large syndication network for our
news, which works out better for everyone.
At the moment, I am rebuilding NewsEye
from a CGI based service to a dynamic content service. At the present
moment, the business section is done, and I am presently working
on computer related news. I expect to have over 100 categories in
NewsEye shortly.
Also, I wish to mention that there have been several other problems,
most to do with time issues, and once again thanks to our host,
which promised us unlimited space, and then didn't, we have some
serious space problems here now. The only solution is either start
deleting stuff, or move. I have decided on the later. shivaSite
had to be taken down, redone, and then placed up minus half it's
content, so after I get the new design 100%, I will be moving my
site somewhere else. As well, I will also be working on finding
a decent home for GameSurge.
The plan with shivaSite is
to be a network, with the 5 main sections becoming separate websites
in their own right. A Similar approach will be done with GameSurge,
but the content will be greatly reduced. This site is to big, and
since I'm the one who does all the content, I do not have the energy,
or the inclination, to work 10 hours a day on new content. In actual
fact, unless the staff start sending me content, there will be very
little in new content added here. My hours are now tied up in shivaSite,
and if you visit, you will understand why.
The side bar here is from shivaSite,
what's new and the latest editorials. As time goes by, this bar
will change, but since the news and the editorials are being updated
several times a day, I decided to place it here instead of everyone
looking at a blank page. Sunday, instead of taking the day off,
I will start fixing some elements to this site, due to the lousy
CGI we have.
In the meantime, I encourage everyone who visits here to visit
both shivaSite, and the pages
of this site. Once we find a new and better host, a lot of the content
will be removed or replaced.
