It's Blowing Me Away By: HonestJon RPG's are for losers. No really? Especially those extra long and boring ones that just keep on repeating and repeating. Walk, battle, talk; walk, battle, talk; more walk, more battle, more talk. Wow. It's blowing me away just thinking about it. The whole concept of RPG's is so exciting. As the name applies, you must PRETEND you are some sorta goddamn hero born just to save the world. Most of the time that hero tends to be either some young sexy pimp... I mean prince; or a strong, handsome, manly bum. Hmmm... doesn't that sound like a certain kind of 1 hour long movie (hehe, there ain't many kinds of 1 hour long movies are there...)? Or is it just me. (read: just me) Some peeps just race through the game and yap bout how many hours it took them and such. But hey, RPG's ain't exactly a race. Know why? Cuz if it is, it just won't freaking sell because of they low replay value. Who's gonna beat FF7 or XenoGear like 10 times? Well, some peeps certainly will, and I really believe they should be locked away. Far far far away. On the other hand, games like NBA Live or Fifa are way shorter, but have a far higher replay value. And most important of all, since most (obviously except Everquest) RPGs are single player games, you cannot directly give your buddies a nice and hard spanking. Trust me, nothing beats a little (actually, a lot=) good old trash talking after a hard fought (read: as long as you win) death match. Winning cleanly is another matter. Yes, you are definitely right. I am not a big RPG fan--if I am a RPG fan at all. Maybe it's in my genes, maybe I just don't got what it takes to play a RPG (it's blowing me away...). OR maybe RPG's just suck=) They're just too damn long, too damn much talking, too damn much walking, and too damn many levels. Ain't I impatient? Heheh... PS Just for the record, I did beat a RPG... and only one. Guess what? It's Dragon Quest I... the SNES version. It only took me around 3 or 4 years. Serious. I couldn't find the pass to get the rain stone to make the rainbow bridge after I played the game for a week or so. Forgot bout it. Finally found the pass and the stone 3 years later after I read a guide. Too fast for you hey |
