    Billy Martin, the award-winning composer whose outlets include such media icons as Walt Disney Pictures, Universal, Fox, the Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and ABC, has created the music for a trio of animated games centred on Disney’s feature film Treasure Island, which opens in theaters nationwide on November 27.

    Developed by Hulabee Entertainment for Disney Interactive the Treasure Planet Training Academy games are being released on PC and Mac to coincide with the movie based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s epic novel. Billy wrote the original orchestral scores for Treasure Planet Broadside Blast, Treasure Planet Etherium Rescue and Treasure Planet Treasure Race.

    Aimee Paganini, Producer at Hulabee Entertainment, said, "Billy was very easy to work with on the Treasure Planet Training Academy products. He was able to provide us with great pieces on time, and on a quick schedule. I will definitely work with him again."

    Whether conducting a 60-piece orchestra on the famed Sony sound stage or crafting an electronic score in his own technically appointed studio, Billy Martin creates music to tell stories.

    Billy said of the experience, "Treasure Planet is the 20th Disney-related game I have scored. I really enjoy taking classic, well-known characters and bringing a little something new of my own into the mix. On Treasure Planet, the producer Aimee Paganini provided me with some great direction, and we were able to quickly zero in on the kind of music that would be just right for the games."

    AndNow LLC, a developer of interactive games, today announced that they have launched SmallBall Baseball, a unique, massively multi-player on-line baseball game featuring the tiniest players to ever strap on cleats. SmallBall Baseball allows participants to own their own team (or teams), train their players in the skills of throwing, fielding, running and hitting, and compete against other teams from around the world for fame, fortune, and international bragging rights. Most importantly, team ownership in SmallBall Baseball is absolutely free of charge for anyone – and there are no player salaries, arbitration, work stoppages, or any of the other negatives that have come to be associated with America’s pastime.

    SmallBall Baseball is a labor of love for two former Sega game designers and hardcore baseball fans, Ed Annunziata and Gerry Blau, who became fed up with how money has ruined the sport they both love. “Our goal when we created SmallBall Baseball was to capture what makes the sport great, while leaving out the things that have plagued the game over the past couple decades,” said Annunziata. “SmallBall Baseball is America's pastime in its purest form - hitting, fielding, running and throwing -- without mega salaries, work stoppages, lawyers and free agency.”

    The strategy of SmallBall Baseball is deep. Your “living” players will grow and evolve over time. As you observe their abilities you will determine their strengths and weaknesses, and how to train them. SmallBall Baseball is played in a public arena with an active community of other players that will see your every triumph, and your every failure! SmallBall Baseball is not about reaction time. You don't hit or pitch. It’s not a video game. SmallBall Baseball is a hobby based on one of America’s greatest pastimes.

    Wargaming.net announces Massive Assault, a full 3D global domination strategy game

    New Orleans, LA -- November 8, 2002 -- Wargaming.net announces the development of Massive Assault, the first 3D global domination strategy game. The official web site launches today at: http://www.massiveassault.com/.

    A player will act as either "Axis-of-Good" or "Shadow Clique" Commander-in-Chief, operating with divisions of various ground war machines, battle structures, fleets and air squadrons, struggling for total control over distant colonized planets. The game is powered by Wargaming.net's proprietary high-performance 3D engine, giving unprecedented look and feel to a turn-based global-scale strategy.

    Features:
    * Full 3D Graphic Engine
    * Huge 3D Landscapes
    * 28 Detailed 3D Units
    * Realistic Lighting, Explosions and Effects
    * 3D Sound
    * 6 Different Worlds (planets)
    * AI, Hot Seat and Internet Play Modes

    The game contains original political system, preserving the intrigue throughout the whole war. Each side has a bunch of allied countries, unknown to the enemy. Secret allies can disclose and provide troops at any moment, surprisingly shifting the power balance in particular region.

    "We decided to avoid creating yet another WWII simulation monster or use traditional RTS scheme based on routine resource collection, city construction, building upgrades, etc," says Victor Kislyi, the president of Wargaming.net. "Instead we propose totally new war-for-global-domination gaming concept where players are supposed to employ strategic, political and tactical skills in their pure meaning".

    The game is set in dynamic strategic environment, where the tide can turn for several times, giving the winner an impression that the victory was snatched from the jaws of defeat. The secret alliance concept provides endless replayability - in each game the world is re-shaped differently, providing unique strategic situation.

    A player should employ the eternal principles of warfare, such as: usage of terrain advantages, outflanking moves and envelopment, troops concentration in the area of main strike, cutting enemy supply routes, screening maneuvers, guerrilla tactics and sabotage.

    Conquering the continents, the player will be involved into huge naval landing operations, will learn how to operate carrier battle groups, provide artillery support and will face other non-trivial challenges.

    Massive Assault has been under development for 8 months. The release is planned for Q1 2003.
    The worldwide on-line beta test (via game server) is planned for the end of November 2002.

    The web site contains additional info, the first screenshots and the artworks. It will be updated every 3-4 days: http://www.massiveassault.com/
