-~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~-
Chapter 1: Intro

Hey, this is my FAQ for my favorite SF3 character.
This FAQ won't be as discriptive as my cool Roll
FAQ for Marvel vs. Capcom, simply because I spend
more time playing the original SF3 than Third Strike.
Personally, I like v1 better, because Dudley was a
LOT stronger and a little faster (comparitively).

-~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~-
Chapter 2: Going to the tea party

Dudley is a character in the ongoing SF3 mini-series
(and if you didn't figure that out by now, you should
get your head examined). He comes from Great Britan and
a rich family, complete with a butler reminiscent of Alfred
on Batman, a stylish hairdo, fashionable boxing gloves,
and... uh... helpful suspenders. He thinks of street
fighting as a sport, like tennis or crouqet,
and that it should only be "played" by gentlemen.

Chapter 4: Moves of note

One of Dudley's greatest strengths is most of his
moves are totally unorthidox, but VERY effective.
It's in two sections on most moves, normal and
EX. EX is a strong version of the move performed
by using about half of a super meter. Basicly,
you do the motion inscribed above with either
PP or KK.
-~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~-
Fierce Punch Fe (simple enough, huh?)

This is his best normal move. Standing Fe is like
Balrog's turn punch (except it doesn't do "chipping" damage).
Jumping he does a coo-l hook that grrr... lost MAJOR priority
since v1, but still beats out Ryu/Ken/Gouki's(Akuma's)
jumping R and Other (too) often used jumping techniques. Crouching
does fairly decent anti-airing, but he has too many other anti-airs
to make it matter.

-~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~-
Jet Upper FwD, D, DFwD,P

This is a standard flying uppercut move. It's got
very little horizontal movement, but travels high
and takes more damage than Ken's (at least it did...
Dudley has gotten much weaker).

EX: He flashes and takes about 1.5 times as much damage
if it hits. It's not all that good though. Think basicly
of Dan's Kouryuken in Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter,
and you've got it.

-~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~-
Machine Gun Blow 1/2 C FwD,P

I love this move, but, my GOD it was so much better in
v1. In v1, if it was blocked, it would bounce him back
just enough to avoid most normal attacks. Sigh... oh
well. Anyway, he rushes forward, and (even if blocked) he goes
nuts on the enemy punching rapidly for a short time.
The strength of the punch determines how many hits he throws out,
how much effect each hit has on the "dizzy" meter, and how
far Dudley travels. Great after blocked air attacks (Akuma's Tenma
ha do ken, Ibuki's Kunai, etc.), or if Hugo tries a "throw move"
from too far (and he will...sigh...). DON'T overuse this move, though
because if it's blocked they can and WILL counter by any means
necassary.

EX: Basically the same, but he doesn't usually over-dash (however
the flash telegraphs the move), and adds another hit to the attack.

-~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~-
Dodge 'em 1/2 C BcK, K

Sorry, I don't like this move, so I don't have any useful
info about it. Simply put, he backs up jumps forward and
punches.

EX: He punches twice, I guess. I really don't know anything
about this move. Sorry.

-~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~-
Ducking Straight 1/2 C FwD, K, P

Dudley does a ducking dash and throws out a punch.
This move has mad itself safer than the Machine Gun
Blow, but it's not highly damaging. I've heard it can
done to avoid fireballs, but I haven't seen it happen that
way.

EX: CAN this be EX powered? I could never do it,
but that doesn't make it impossible. Maybe it
is.

-~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~-
Ducking Upper 1/2 C FwD, K. K again

Same as DSt, but with an uppercut.

EX: Once again, same as DSt

-~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~-
Cross-counter 1/2 C Bck, P

Dudley players often agree, this is a REALLY cool
move! I've loved this move since v1! Anyway, Dudley
lets his arms dangle, giving a stupified look, and
if he gets hit by a high, non-multi hit attack, his
eye flashes (much like a "Shadow Robot" from the cross-over
series), and he punches back. HARD. He also goes flying
past the enemy in the blink of an eye (literally!).
He WILL take the normal damage, but he strikes back for
1.5 to 3 times the damage he took! Best against basicly all
non-progectile, jumping attacks (Hehehe... a Ryu player couldn't
figure out why his prehistoric jumping roundhouse, trip attack
wouldn't work!). Power of the punch also determines how far
he goes past the enemy.

EX: He does the move twice, crossing over and crossing BACK
over the opponent (I THINK he crosses back...). It's easily
seen (like always the flash is a HUGE giveaway), but in just
like in most instances when use use crosscounter, they can't
do anything about it! This is actually VERY good (as an EX
move).

-~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~-
Taunt??? Fe and R !SECRET!

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! This move is the funniest f*cking thing in
the world! Imagine this! DUDLEY has a PROGECTILE! His taunt is
like Roll's Flower Bomb in Marvel vs. Capcom, except for a few
things. One, he can't do it in the air; two, it actually takes
MORE damage; third, it's kind of... homing. Essentially, he does
his "cheer", throwing out a rose (if you use the move too often,
he doesn't throw a rose for a couple times) this move is a SECRET
move and obviously can't be EX powered. Use it to fight the
Kunai dagger, to keep Alex, Hugo, an uninformed Dudley, and the
like at bay. It does only a couple pixels of damage, but REALLY
confuses opponents! Just give this move a try! Hehehe...

-~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~-
Rocket Uppercut 1/4 C FwD, 1/4 C FwD, P !SUPER!

This is the move I usually stick to. It's the usual
Shor ryu reppa move. He does two jab JUs and a Fe
one with a tornado around him. It delivers up to 13
hits and GREAT damage! Use this as your getting up
and if someone tries to hit you, he's toast.

-~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~-
Corkscrew Blow 1/4 C FwD, 1/4 C FwD, P !SUPER!

I like this move too. It's about the speed of his
standing Fe (maybe a little slower), and can be comboed
into. Awww, geez... why did they get rid of that cool
"drill" look? Oh, well.

-~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~-
Rolling Thunder 1/4 C FwD, 1/4 C FwD, P rapidly !SUPER!

What a stupid move. All it is is he stands there about two seconds,
and then dashes forward and pummels the enemy over and over. Visually
pleasing, it not much else. It's pretty much the easiest move to see
coming in Dudley's arsenal. It has one good use; it is GREAT if you
just dizzied them, which Dudley can do GREAT(although once AGAIN,
not as good as he used to)!

-~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~-
Chapter 5: Dudley in a nutshell

This is basicly all of Dudley's strengths and weaknesses here.

Weaknesses (I like to get these out of the way)-

1: This is his BIGGEST. He's NOT what he used to be. He doesn't dizzy
as quick, his attacks don't do even CLOSE to as much damage, etc,
etc, etc...(see a pattern here?)
2: He has PATHETIC kicks! Unlike Balrog, his kicks don't make him
him punch. (He's NOT, NOT, NOOOOTTT like Balrog! He's COMPLETELY
differant!!!)
3: His JU can't be used very much like a shor ryu ken.

4: Unless you're looking for a quick counter, or want to combo
normal moves without specials or supers (Tekken players?), I'd
advise against using any buttons except the Fe. It's much safer
in the end.

Strengths-

1: Although he's got a wierd style, it's GREAT for keeping people
off-balance! His taunt can REALLY confuse Ryu and Ken, and his
Fe attacks are long-range. His CCs will beat the best of them
of not over-used.
2: He has strength to match Alex's and range to beat him. He's
second in raw power only to Hugo and Gill.
3: His hits REALLY dizzy opponents quickly! He lives to beat heads
in (TKO!).
4: His attacks are high-priority, besting a LOT of the shotos moves.
5: Also unlike Balrog, you won't need to lose half your life
charging moves. Kudos to Capcom for giving the elite class a break
(just kidding).
-~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~-
Chapter 5: Vs. Strategies

Dudley has many, MANY different fighting tactics. I list
some of my favorites. BUT, you MUST add your own tactics.
This is just friendly advice, NOT a play-by-play guide.
I will list the opponent, the recommended super for that
enemy.

-Ryu |RU|-
Damn, this guy's OLD!!! His tactics are prehistoric and
easily beaten. Anyway, CC his air attacks, parry or jump
over his fireballs; and if you jump over them, he'll most
likely try to do that moronic shor ryu ken technique. Eas-
ily countered; just parry and do whatever.Denjin ha do ken
is a crafty technique. Obviously, don't try to block it,
jump and DON'T let him dizzy or trip you, because a good
Ryu (I should know, I AM one, even though I hate him) will
charge Denjin as you get up and smack you down AGAIN. If
you're dizzy, prepare to be dizzied twice, because even
the MINIMUM dizzy time will allow enough charge time to
make Denjin dizzy you (it's a MAJOR dizzy technique!).

-Ken |RU|-
Basically an easy Ryu with a better anti-air.

-Akuma |RTh|-
If he tries his air-ha do ken from too far, Taunt him.
It'll smack him down faster than E. Honda in a pie eating
contest. If he tries his air, Metsatsu gou hado, use RTh
RIGHT afterwards. He maybe harder tyhan the other shotos, but
you can take him, champ!

-Elena |RU (if she has Healing, RTh)|-
She used to have MAJOR priority against Dudley. That
was BEFORE 3S. She weakened even MORE than Dudley.
Stay on the ground and block/counter. If she has
healing, use either and EX MGB or RTh.

-Hugo |RTh|-
Hehehehe... okay. Imagine Zangief (the OLD one, not Alpha
and up, when he got totally cool). Now cut off his forearms,
kill his lariat, give him a bad wig, break his nose, shave
his "Mr. T" beard, and make all of his grabs reach straight
down. That's hugo. If he does a grab from too far, use an
EX powered MGB or a RTh. On jump-ins, taunt or CC (careful
of CC though, 'cause he might grab ya).

-Yun & Yang |RU or CB|-
Block low. They have bad range and crap-damage, but they
have GREAT comboes and devastating supers. They've been slowed
down, but they're still VERY fast. His crouching Fe is more
valuable than EVER here.

-Alex |RU/RTh|-
Alex IS super tough. He's strong enough to pound you.
DON'T block his Stun Gun Headbutt, it'll dizzy you. Instead,
use a standing Fe. If you jump in on him, go REALLY deep, 'cause
his flash chop does pretty good anti-airing. He's not the grappler
he once was, but he's got great hand-to-hand skills now.

-Q-
Sorry, but I haven't played Q very much at ALL. In fact,
I only fought him ONCE, can you believe it? Sorry.

-Twelve |RU|-
He'll usually use XCOPY, but until then taunt like nuts. He's
so slow, he can't do much of anything about it. Save a level
until he uses it so you have the upper cut... er... hand.
If he gets in close, play mind games with him, using low and
standing Fe, J JUs and other assorted tricks. Don't jump in,
'cause he has a wicked anti-air.

-Oro |CB|-
He might try a head stomp, if he does, I don't know if CC
will work. I've always used Rose Bud (my coo-l name for his
taunt. Tell me whatcha think). If he does his power-up super,
don't worry, you're STILL stronger, although the grap shrinks.
He's also sped up, so turtling MIGHT be advised (which is NOT
cheap, you morons out there! Sorry, there's just some idiots
who say turtling is cheap. Maybe 'cause they don't know to
block, perhaps?), but watch his head stomp.

-Chun Li|CB or RTh|-
Block and counter. Taunt against her Kikoken and
use an EX powered MGB after her "Spinning Bird Kick",
IF you can get the timing right. If she tries her lightening
kick from too far away (even experts seem to have this problem),
either jump in with a Fe, or wait 'till she's done and hit her
with whatever (recommended: RTh against Lightening Kickers).
Jumping OVER an EX powered Kikoken (NOT Kikosho) is advised.

-Sean |RU|-
The second-most pathetic char in the game (the first being
Hugo). Use Rose Bud a lot, don't get close enough for any of
his moves and you'll be fine.

-Remy |RU|-
Ahh... Remy. When kicked out of the Air Force, Guile was
reported saying, "That hippie stole my moves and killed Charlie
(who hasn't?). GET A HAIRCUT, ***HOLE!" Charlie, with a darker
complection added "Whizz... whirr... boop boop... I AM SHADOW!!!"
Remy replied to this, saying quote: "I quit 'cause Guile kept
spraying me with his ***king hair spray!"...

...

...

The preceding was a moronic fake storyline brought to you
by Sir "O", incorperated. No rights reserved.

Hit him as he charges and taunt to counter his "Sonic Boom".

-Makoto |RU|-
She's not like Ryu, dispite her appearance. Your Fe will make
her cry. Taunt her and use MGB.

-Ibuki |RU|-
Counter her Kunai with your taunt, and punch her a LOT. She's
not really all that good.

-Dudley |if he has; RU use CB, RTh,RU and CB,RTh|-
I can't tell you about mirror matches, other than, "Let
the best Dudley win!".

-Gill |CB|-
Block and use Fe. He's hard, so I really have NO idea how
to discribe a fight against him.

-Necro |RU|-
Don't jump in on him, that's obvious. Your taunt
MIGHT work, but it's risky. Your MBG will be a neccesity
as will J/RU. I've yet to see a REALLY good human Necro,
so don't sweat it.

-Urien |RTh|-
I haven't fought a Urien player yet. Strategies would be
helpful.

-~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~-
Chapter 7: Other Stuff

Who do I think should be on the next SF?

Zangief- Hell, yeah! Teach Hugo a thing or 10.

Guile- YES! He was so COOL in Alpha 3! I wanna see him and
Remy go at it!

Roll- But wouldn't MegaMan get jealous?

Balrog- Simply to see Dudley beat the crap outta him.

Bison- I know that psycho drive thing shoulda killed him,
but he came back in SF2! Well, is he dead or not???

Sagat- C'mon, he was so COOL in the Alpha series! Akuma SUCKS
as a rival for Ryu, and Ken is too nice to Ryu.

Dan- C'mon! It's DAN!!! Does he need any more reason to be on
the game??? I think not!

Fei Long- I don't care what ANYone says, he is so COOL!

Dee Jay- Actually, I'd like to see him kick the ***t outta
that Tekken-made rip-off, Eddy! He COULD beat that moron
to the floor!

Gen- I'd like to see him beat up his nephews (Yang and Yun),
but isn't he dead by now?

My favorite Capcom game quotes-

"I'm sorry, I didn't realize blocking hits with your
face was a tactic" -Dudley

"Don't get mad at me, I'm just a girl." -Roll to Onslaught

"I'd shake your hands, but your arms are over there!" -Zangief

"Hah, you're weak! Just like me!" -Dan

"ME? Copy you? Well, I think of new moves, too." -Dan

"Man enough to fight with me, not man enough to win." -Guile

". . . . ." -Strider Hiryu (Oooo... silence, so cool! NOT!)

"You pathetic pile of excrement!!!" -Bison to Ken in the way past
cool Street Fighter (Animated, not live action) movie

"Mmmm... hot and sticky, so this is blood? Nice!" -Lilith (I forgot
which game though. Help would be appreciated)

"Final, Atoomeek, oh yeah! BUSTER!!!" -Zangief doing his level 3
Final Atomic Buster in Alpha (all of them).
