So it was early Friday, I was still up working on the site, and trying to fix a concept design for shivaSite, when I decided to check my email before I went to bed. And for my desire in doing so, I recede this email:

RE: Courtesy Hosting Services
Dear GameFan Network Associate:
We regret to inform you that Express.com will no longer be offering the courtesy of hosting services to its GameFan Network Associates. We have found that this service can no longer be supported under our business model, and we will do whatever we can within reason to facilitate any transitional requirements.
The timing for this is as soon as possible, and is to occur no later than Monday, October 2, 2000. To be clear, any GameFan Network Associate site that has not been moved off Genuity s servers by 11:59 PM October 2nd will effectively be shut down, so it is critical that you take independent action to retrieve and independently procure hosting provider for your site(s).
Steps needed to move your site(s) from GFN to another hosting provider:
1) Download your site from our servers (using FTP or whatever method you prefer)
2) Network Solutions is the master registrar for the DNS records of your site.
In order to move from our servers to another hosting facility you will need to complete the form at the following URL: http://www.networksolutions.com/cgi-bin/makechanges/domain.mod
Note: In the event that Express is the technical contact for your domain(s), you will need to immediately initiate a Network Solutions request to change contact and DNS information. Express.com, Inc. will subsequently and immediately respond to a Network Solutions request within one (1) business day.
This was followed by some technical information, contact names, and then this:
On behalf of Express.com, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We will do our best to support you in any reasonable way to make your transition as seamless as possible.
I will save my comments for towards the end of this article, for as it became very apparent, there was a lot more to this than Express.com was giving out. In actual fact, judging from recent events being made available, it has become more and more clearer that we, and other affiliates, have been lied to from the start.
